OUR STORY
WHO WE ARE: RICH AND MIKE
Back in 2019 when Rich’s wife turned vegan he wanted to treat her with some chocolate but was left surprised with the lack of innovation and choice available.
He took matters into his own hands and made some vegan milk chocolates in his kitchen.
After a few months, and with the help of his brother Michael, KAKOA was born. The name KAKAO is German for cocoa (although with the O and A the wrong way round as we like to be different!), is a nod to the brothers German mother who was very supportive as the business grew.
CLIMATE POSITIVE CHOCOLATE
We take great care in sourcing our chocolate, not just ensuring we are selecting the best tasting chocolate, but also making sure it is sourced in the most sustainable way.
All our packaging is biodegradable, our factory is powered purely by renewable energy and we also invest in sea grass restoration projects.
It is fair to say we are pretty proud of our Great Taste Award winning vegan peanut butter truffles. These super creamy, peanut butter filled milk chocolate truffles are something else.
