As a nut oil, kukui nut oil is exceptionally lightweight and absorbs well into the skin while still providing deep hydration. Its secret lies in its skin-friendly fatty acids and high levels of vitamins A and E. It is rich in linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids, with only a small amount of greasy oleic acid. The skin does not feel oily but instead soft and silky. Thanks to the balanced ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and its natural antimicrobial properties, it is suitable for all skin types and can also help with eczema and acne.

The kukui nut tree is a tropical rainforest tree. Its exact origin is not fully known, as humans have carried it wherever they have settled. The earliest evidence of the tree and its nuts being used dates back 13,000 years to the tropical islands of Southeast Asia.

Indigenous peoples have prepared food from the nuts by roasting and steaming them, but in Hawaii, the kukui tree has also held exceptional spiritual and religious significance. In Hawaii, the skin-healing properties of kukui nut oil were discovered early on, and it has been used as part of religious rituals as well.

 

How to use

Massage a few drops of facial oil onto cleansed skin as the final step of your skincare routine. Allow the oil serum to fully absorb before applying makeup or sunscreen.

The Rainforest Oil Serum is suitable for daily use as part of your skincare and makeup routine. You can use the oil serum to replace your regular day or night cream, or mix a couple of drops into your cream to enhance its moisturizing and nourishing properties.

Our Story

Usva Cosmetics is a family-owned natural skincare company. We carefully select our ingredients and handcraft our products in our small workshop in Lohja, Finland.

Our production methods are very gentle, so that the nutrients and vitamins in the raw materials remain full-quality and unaltered. We make our products in small batches and send them to our customers directly from our workshop, fresh and ready to use.

For example, the production of sandalwood essential oil requires the cutting down of an endangered sandalwood tree as its heartwood is used to extract the oil.
